Sanguine Awakening
Sanguine Awakening is a game where you are a little robot trying to get to a robot heart. The robot has to store instructions before carrying them out. The game is fairly simple now, but has a lot of room to grow.
Right now there is only one level, but it would not be terribly difficult to add more. One thing that I would really like to implement is an animation for when you reach the heart. The heart activates and pulses, the robot shuts down, and the camera zooms out until it passes through the body of a larger robot that you were inside and just powered up. The next level would be taking control of the bigger robot.
With the theme of “Overload” I wanted my game to match it in two ways. First: the robot theme and powering up the heart overloads the smaller robot. Second: the mechanic of choosing three actions before your robot moves is a bit challenging. On later levels you would need to plan even further ahead, possibly even up to 10 which would really challenge people according to Miller's Law.
I would like to implement a UI to show which actions have been taken so it is more clear how the game works. Different mechanics such as arrows that rotate the player, cranse, pistons, electricity, acid, etc. would improve the gameplay and create lots of puzzle possibilities. I would love to add more to the lore and story of the game.
